Nancy Merriam, double bassist, has performed throughout the United States and her native country, Canada. Her concert activities include orchestra, ensemble, and solo performances for a variety of audiences including the young, the elderly, and everyone in between.
As a double bass enthusiast since her studies with Gary Karr and Jon Deak, Nancy has particularly enjoyed performing contemporary music and concerts for children. Along with performing, she teaches music and creative movement to preschoolers and has a blast exploring all her instruments (guitar, ukulele, recorder, drums, and various acoustic and electric basses including her 6-foot basso guitar) with the children.
A former member of symphony orchestras in San Antonio, TX, Reading, PA, Prince George, BC, and Grande Prairie, AB, Nancy is currently a freelance musician in the greater Philadelphia area.
